PBS in the Park

Oh what we do for our little ones! Matt, my mom and I took Willow to PBS in the Park in order to get up close to some of her favorite characters. It was, admittedly, a beautiful Saturday morning, but the long lines and crowds kept our visit fairly short. She gets a wee bit nervous around the characters (Matt can't blame her as he found some of them to be quite creepy). One of her coping mechanisms is to talk very fast and ask them a lot of questions! My mom actually had better pics on her camera, but if I didn't post until I got them, you'd probably see this sometime next year!

They even changed the street name.

Waiting for the parade of characters.

This is Caillou. The only reason we know him is because we have a Caillou book. Willow was very anxious around him and her conversation here went something like this--"uh...Hi hi Caillou where's Rosie...uh..oh..where's your daddy Caillou where's your daddy?" Just enough time for a photo and we bolted.

Unfortunately this was the closest we got to Elmo. The line for Elmo went on for an eternity. My mom even stood in it (Matt and I were willing to bail on the Elmo pic), and by the time she reached the front, it was time for Elmo to go and Zoe to come in. Willow likes Zoe, too, so it ended up being worth it (the cute Zoe/Willow pic is on my mom's camera).

The same thing happened to us later in the Ernie line. We were about 4 people away when Ernie was escorted off and Bert was whisked in. Willow didn't seem to mind, though.
